Max is a sensitive dog and I only buy him healthy dog food that is grain-free, made with natural ingredients, and good for his dry skin and itchy coat.

Licking his lips after the infamous smile. Yes, that treat was G O O D! |

It can get expensive serving the best dry dog food to him.
So, of course, when Canine Caviar offered a trial of their holistic, grain free dog food, how I could resist?
To my surprise, they sent a whole box of goodies!
Including dry dog food, dried vegetable mix, and three different types of dog treats.
Max couldn’t wait to rip into that box!
This food, Canine Caviar Holistic Wilderness Grain Free ALS Dinner, you switch to cold turkey, no easing into it.
It is an alkaline based dog food and the caloric content is higher so your dog doesn’t need to eat as much, which also means less out later. Bonus for us doggie scoopers!
It’s also easier to digest, reduces itching, scratching, and hot spots, which is perfect for Max! I definitely noticed he was not itching as much after just a week of his eating this food. His coat shines and is soft and silky and he’s been full of energy.
From day one, he licked up every morsel of the food including the dried vegetable mix. I didn’t think he’d want to eat that, but he loved it and it was simple to prepare, just add a bit of water. He really enjoyed all the food and treats he tried!
So what was it that really made him smile?
Was it the all natural smoked Buffalo Bully Stix?
Or the Buffalo Jerky of grass fed, free range, buffalo meat (shown below in middle)?
He loved each of those treats, but his favorite was the Dried Sweet Potato (shown above right)!
He goes crazy waiting for me to open the bag and give it to him then takes off as fast he can to find a spot to eat in privacy. I followed him this time and shot a quick video of him scarfing it down. Then he turned toward me and smiled. Actually smiled!
