We’ve spent the past few months moving and getting settled in. For a few weeks we had to stay with relatives and the boys were stuck in the guest room the whole time. We didn’t let the cats out for fear they would get out of the house and be lost!
It wasn’t so bad, though they did get tired of it. The worst part was my having to sleep near the cat box! The room was not very big and there was just enough room for the cat box on the side of the bed. I ran out of my favorite litter and when I stopped at the store to pick some up I discovered that store didn’t carry the brand I was looking for, so I bought a different natural cat litter. This one was made of pine. Considering we were moving to a Pine forest, I thought that would be perfect for getting them used to their new home!
It didn’t take long to realize that this litter did not cover odor well at all! And I don’t think the boys liked it much because a lot of it ended up on the floor, even though their box is covered! Maybe I need to find out what the best cat litter mat is and invest in one!
I slept next to this stench of litter box for many nights. No wonder, I had strange dreams that I was falling into the bog of eternal stench! Though, I did change it regularly. If the boys used it just once, it was enough to make my eyes water whenever I was in the room.
I’m not one to be wasteful, so I made sure to clean the litter box a couple time a day and kept on using the stuff. I couldn’t wait to get moved so I would no longer have to sleep right next to where the cats did their business! They were stinking me out!
Finally that litter was used up and I could get some kitty litter that actually works!

I’m a huge fan of Weruva Tea Potty Cat Litter.
It smells like green tea and I never smell the cat’s stink when they use the box. The very first time I used it, when I had switched from a standard litter to natural kitty litter, I sprinkled a layer over the top of their usual litter to help them get used to the different texture and smell. Now I can fill the box with just Weruva cat litter and they seem quite happy with it. I know I am! Not only no stink, it smells good!
It’s not just the smell I’m a fan of.
- The materials used to make this litter are sourced responsibly from sustainable resources. The Hinoki, Japanese Cypress, wood is a salvaged by-product of other industries.
- And it lasts! I have to remind myself to clean the litter box because I never smell it! That is one problem I don’t mind having at all.
- It’s clump-able for easy cleaning
- And, a must in my book, it’s low dust! I can’t stand breathing in cat litter dust and I don’t want my kitties to have to breathe it either!
I can’t speak highly enough about this litter! I never thought I would care or LIKE a litter! If you haven’t tried it, you’re in for a treat.

We finally did get moved into our new home and I was so glad to have a good litter as they still had to remain inside for another week. The cat’s finally did get to go outside, but that is a whole other story.

I’ve been struggling to find a litter that clumps well and doesn’t track to a ridiculous degree. I’ll have to try this!
Wow everyone seems to be moving recently! We moved too, this Summer. I’ve heard great good things about this litter, glad it’s working out for the kitties!
