True Love is a Dog and His Girl
Max loves his little girl.
This girl can do no wrong. He follows her around, sleeps in her bed, cuddles with her on the couch and even though she sometimes forgets to be as gentle as I would like, he keeps coming back for more.
Her favorite thing to do is bundle him up like a little baby doll and place toys and stuffed animals around him. Most dogs I’ve had in the past would chew up the toys or at least shake off the blankets and jump around. Not Max. He stays so still and is so patient with her. He does love to burrow into the covers so he seems to really enjoy when she gets him all cozy.
She also understands the endless fun of tossing a dog toy or ball for him to bring back. They will play fetch until Max gets tired and lays down. No one else in the family quite gets how that game never ceases to be thrilling. They are forever best buddies and are inseparable as much as possible. True love indeed.

A Healthy Family, Pets Included
This year I changed my family’s diet to eat healthier so that same little girl, and the rest of us, can be healthy and feel our best. We try to eat all natural foods with no artificial ingredients, fresh produce from local farms, and a wider variety of healthy foods. Now that we’re eating so well, I put much more thought into my pets foods. I’m reading labels and checking to make sure they are also getting the highest nutrition and healthiest pet foods I can find.
PetSmart is making that easier by bringing in Wellness® TruFood®, an all natural pet food who’s philosophy I really like:
Wellness believes in giving pets a colorful palette of the best nutrition possible, so they make TruFood with whole foods from farm, field and sea.
Is this people food?
Max can’t handle grains, but TruFood Wellness uses Grain Free fiber such as chickpeas, flaxseed and lentils that pets may digest better. And superfoods such as beets, blueberries, and cranberries to help maintain a healthy weight and support the immune system. TruFood recipes contain pumpkin, ginger and turmeric and live yogurt cultures to help support a healthy digestive system. Slow baked, in small batches, Wellness Trufood dog food has 70% more raw protein than most dry dog foods. TruFood only uses whole-prey proteins full of natural vitamins and minerals that pets need to thrive. Also included is kale, broccoli and green beans. When I read these ingredients I thought, how funny that these are the same foods I’m feeding my family more of! Is this really for dogs?
With over 100 years of combined experience in making natural pet food, their values are based on a small company, family business legacy they’ve built making the finest quality pet foods. Wellness promises “Your pet’s well-being is at the heart of all we do, that’s why we do whatever it takes to make the healthiest natural products for the pets that depend on us.”
Great post…so true!
Okay this is too cute and what a great food, too.
I like the grain free aspect of the food and the fact that it contains healthy fruit, pumpkin and so many other healthy ingredients. Your story reminds me of my first childhood dog, Ginny!
