In the Simple Things

by L. E. Mastilock

cat in sunny window

Sometimes when having a rough day it just takes a nudge from your cat or dog to remind you of what is truly important. To notice and enjoy the simple things in life and not stress so much over the rest.

You’re So Good to Remind Me

No matter how my day has gone
up or down or sideways
you are here to calm my soul
warm my lap and guide me
It’s simple things that matter most
you’re so good to remind me

Of all the things that I could give
all you ask is this
to give my time and love to you
your one and only wish

That poem is beautiful! Bear’s kept me alive (and sane) for 10 years with those little nudges 😉

That cat looks like they are having the best REM sleep ever! Beautiful photo and you are right – we need to slow down and simplify our lives a bit.

Awww! Such a cute photo. You are right – cats give great reminders about how to be happy with what you have. Cats have a way of always being at peace. 🙂

True. Wish I could relax like a cat.

    Such a serene nap.

I was sick recently and learned (again) just how comforting my dog, Misha, is. She was very good to me not being her usual Jack Russell self. She was gentle and quiet for 3 full days.

It is the simple things that our pets add to our lives.

This is a lesson we kitties enjoy teaching our humans!

Rascal went out and it started snowing a little bit. He wasn't sure what was happening, but sure wanted back in quickly.
