When you own a cat, or rather, when a cat owns you, reading time is not about you.
It is a time for rubbing a furry cheek against book edges and of cuddles in a warm lap. It is for petting, scritching, rubbing of bellies (if your kitty is into that), kneading a leg or two, and time for you to give over all your attention to your feline(s). It is anything but reading words on a page in peace. Again, it is not about you.
So very true! Thanks for sharing with us at Together on Tuesdays!
Your cats remind me of my dog, Archie. He curls up beside me all day long. I’ll be following your cats on Instagram 🙂 Thanks for sharing at Together on Tuesdays!
Well, we don’t want to make it too easy for the humans!
Nothing better than snuggling up with a cat and a good book!

Aww…looks so sweet and cozy in pajamas by the fireplace with two cute little buddies! <3 I feel the same when I try to do something relaxing then here comes Happy! 😉 It's all about him! He's staring at right now too! LOL
You are right about that! Kitties are not happy with books that get more attention than they do. MOL Your photo is really cute! At least you know how to get them to cuddle with you when you want to cuddle with them. 🙂
My dog Shermie does this around dinner time – he literally will try and sit in my lap wherever I am to get my attention and to get me OFF the computer. I kind of love it… 🙂
Shh, it’s a secret that we actually like it. If they knew I loved their attention, they might all ignore me!
… But it can be about teaching your cat the classics. Read out loud helps some humans more fully absorb the reading material as well as act as a great communication to your cat. As long as your cat doesn’t start talking back in Shakespeare terminology, it’s a win-win!
Hmm, hadn’t thought of that. A Shakespearean speaking cat could be pretty awesome
