Welcome to Monday Matters where I spread awareness to help important causes and where you can start your week off right by making a difference each Monday, even if that is just to pin, tweet, or share to pass this information on.

How to Throw a Fund Raiser Party for Pets
Host an unforgettable pet party and gift donations or proceeds to you favorite animal charity
First you’ll need to set a date
Talk to your animal loving friends and see if they like the idea (who wouldn’t be thrilled to party for a good cause?) and pick a date that works for the majority.
Pick a venue
Will you host at home, rent a hall, reserve meeting space at a pet friendly hotel? Meet up at a dog park or at the beach? Think about what the weather will be like, if you need a pet friendly space outside your home, and how many and comfortably that space will accommodate.
Choose your charity
Donate to your local animal shelter, wild life or environmental conservation, pet rescue, or whichever animal non profit most speaks to you heart.
Send out invites
Create your event and sell tickets or list it as free with suggested donation through Eventbrite.
Choose a theme
Valentine’s Day is coming up quick, which always makes a great theme with heart shaped dog biscuits or catnip sachet favors. Or there’s St. Patrick’s Day, Mardi Gras, or you can choose a theme not based on a holiday. Will you host a dance, a costume party or fashion show? Get the word out
Will this be just close friends or is it open to the public? Share your event on social media. Post a Facebook event with a link to register. Put fliers up at local coffee shops, libraries, and veterinary clinics. Ask your friends and family to tell their friends.
Plan the details
Now for the really fun part! Plan your decorations, menu, music, and party favors. You don’t have to break the bank or overwhelm yourself. Simplicity will make for a smoother party with a relaxed host. Get your close friends involved and delegate. It does not have to be all on you. Know someone crafty? Put them in charge of decor. Know a great catering place? Why bother cooking all day if they’ll cook and deliver. Let them know this is a fundraising event, maybe they can offer a special deal? Make sure your ticket prices cover the cost of all these details plus a little more, remember you want to have something to donate, not go into debt.
Have Fun!
The most important part, beside helping a great cause, is to have fun and enjoy animal lovers and pets together with good people. ENJOY!
Not into hosting?
Find an animal charity event to attend through Eventbrite
Such as The Puppy Palooza 2018 in Fresno, CA, hosted by Animal Compassion Team. Just go to Eventbrite.com and click Browse Events on the top right corner. You can select category or search by keyword, such as “pets”, in your location.
Seems like more and more shelters are doing this. I know our shelter is planning a kitten shower for this year.
Sounds like fun
That is a great idea!
What a fun idea!
I am helping a rescue gathering donated auction items for their annual fund-raiser; it’s my first time doing this! Great post!
