Never Leave Your Dryer Door Open

September 11, 2014 by L. E. Mastilock

Never Leave Your Dryer Door Open when you have #cats

Why should you never leave your clothes dryer open and unattended for a moment?

Pet safety is a huge concern around here, at least for the humans. The cats seem as if they couldn’t care less about their own safety. Anytime I leave anything open they’re immedietly in it, snooping around where they shouldn’t be. It’s a wonder curiosity hasn’t killed the cat. Yet.

Keep your animals safe and always check before you dry a cat in the dryer.

That was a good reminder for everyone. Caring for our pets is like caring for our child. We must also take precautions in everything.

Our cat doesn't go in the laundry room, but I can see why a cat would be tempted to hop in the warm dryer.

This is a good reminder. The dryer must be so enticing for kitties with all those warm, clean clothes. Our dryer is way up high so no worries there but there's always something they want to get into. This is such a cute picture!

That is a great reminder. My cats used to love warm clothes to snuggle on. ☺

haha! every time I open the dryer to take the clothes out, my kitten Loco tries to jump in. They must like the warmth.

We have a post about this scheduled for next month because we got a front-loading washer, and it looks as tempting as a dryer! The head peep knows someone whose cat didn't survive the effects of a tumble in the dryer, so this is VERY important advice and should be repeated. We'll schedule a tweet to share it later today.

The dryer here is in the garage, which is inaccessible to us cats. You'd think my human had planned it that way.

Our laundry room is full of dangers for Amelia so we always just keep the door to the room closed. But she is fast and sneaky so keeping the dryer and front loading washer doors closed is indeed an important extra safety measure.
