#1000Speak 1000 Voices Speak for CompassionSleepy Kitty?

It’s National Love Your Pet Day and I’d like to bring to
attention this important topic of cats needing a comfortable place to
sleep to maintain optimal health.
It’s also a day to Speak for Compassion,  search using hashtag #1000Speak to be filled with compassion today. If you’ve given an animal a home and provided food, love, and a safe place to sleep, than you are a compassionate person and I thank you!

If you’ve yet to rescue an animal and you’re able, there are more than enough that need you. Find the perfect pet for your family near you at Petfinder:

How to Nap Without a Proper Pet Bed

Napping Without a Cat Bed, is it Possible? #1000Speak #loveyourpetday #catnap #pets #cats #catlover

You’re not your best self when you don’t get enough rest. It’s so important for not only your physical health, but your mental health, as well, to get plenty of sleep. That can be hard to do when you don’t have a new fluffy mattress or even a designated pillow to sleep on.

I’m not trying to get sympathy here, the humans have brought home some interesting, so called, pet beds, but none were suitable for our high standards. Health is truly that important!

We’ve had to get innovative in our choice of sleeping positions in the past. Here are our current top suggestions for the-

Best spot to curl up for a nap:

Computers are usually warm, especially if on, and the clicking of keys as you shift your body is actually quite soothing.

Any blanket left out is fair game. That also applies to any jacket, purse, bag, laundry basket, pile of papers, what have you. All items, especially new, in the house need to be infused with your smell anyway.

A plush chair is a good bet. If you have a brother that takes up all the room, just lay over the top of him. He’ll feel just like a big poofy pillow.

If you do have a bed, make sure there are no dogs in it first. We used to sleep on ours, until this happened. If no dogs are to be found, I find the human’s head to be the best place to sleep so I can kneed her long hair. However, you may get pushed off frequently, so asses if it’s worth it to you.

Same goes for a toasty warm lap. They don’t stay put long, but they can be just right, especially with a little prodding in the legs to move into the best position for everyone’s comfort.

A warm sunny window is always nice, but you can get stiff from sleeping on such a hard surface after a while.

Wherever you find to sleep, I hope you can nap warm and long.

I like to sleep on the couch.

This is so cute! My three boys tend to nap anywhere and everywhere. Pip can often be found on the top perch snoozing away the day, Melvin is often on the human bed and Arlen is either on the human bed or behind the couch. Every so often they do mix it up and can be found under the bed, on the couch, on mom's recliner, under the bathroom sink and in the office when mom and dad let them in.

Mikko's favorite place to sleep is pretty much on my lap or the back of the couch where his favorite paw blanket is.

Compassion is not just for humans to give and receive! Our furry friends show it and need it too!

We love how you kitties cuddle up together so sweetly!

Our fave resting/cuddle/napping spot is pawppy's lap/belly or legs when he is on the recliner, followed by any number of cozy nests as placed in strategic warm spots all over the den…sometimes we go nestless and camp out in front of the furnace vent, ahhh, that is toasty!

Rascal and Rocco are such cute cuddlers… ours do that too, but only in winter when it's really cold!

Rascal & Rocco are darling kitties πŸ™‚ I can see the attraction of a warm laptop..good thing our pups are way too big to try that one! They both have a doggie bed, but also like to cuddle on their warm dog blankets on the couch, preferably next to or half on one of their humans πŸ˜‰

You guys know all the best ways to nap! My Manna loves the idea of sleeping on any piece of paper that is found on the floor or couch. Sometimes I give her a receipt just because I know she will enjoy it πŸ™‚

That last picture would make a great Valentine! I am looking at my sweet cat Tommie right now, he's sleeping on the bed between two very nice cat beds- one even has a heater in it which you would think he'd appreciate in this really cold weather… but no.
