MORE Bowls of Love
Last month on Monday Matters I shared that IAMS Shakeables soft and chewy treats partnered with Andrew Grantham to give pet fans a treat with this hilarious talking animal video, as well as help pets in need with a pet food donation.
For every video view of Punk’d Puppy, featuring the fun dog treats, and share of the hashtag, #ShakeItForward, IAMS donated 1 bowl of food to pets in select animal shelters across the country up to 250,000 bowls. They recently hit and exceeded the 250,000 goal and were overwhelmed by the response from everyone!
Thanksgiving is around the corner, and in the spirit of giving, IAMS is going to #ShakeItForward again by DOUBLING their pet food donation to 500,000 bowls!
Also, in the spirit of Thanksgiving this week, I am feeling very thankful for my dog, Max!
Why should I feel especially thankful for this dog?
I did not want another dog. I was completely in love with my last dog and I just wasn’t sure I would love a new one as much. I didn’t want to deal with cleaning up after it, shedding hair, making sure it went on walks, and especially training a new dog. In fact I had a whole impossible list of conditions I was certain I would never find in one dog.
However, after losing a very dear family member early this year, the only thing I could think of to really cheer us up was get what everyone had been begging me for, a dog.
I secretly stopped by the animal shelter just to look and I instantly fell in love. I brought home our boy, Max, everyone was thrilled of course, but now that we’ve had him almost a year, I love him even more! And feel so blessed to have found him.
He was already trained, more than I could (or would) have managed, even so much as doing tricks like roll over and speak. He listens well, loves the kids, is great with the cats, doesn’t shed, takes his business outside, comes when called, all the things dog owners dream of having came from this shelter dog, this homeless pound puppy of who’s past we know nothing of! Who would have thought?!
I can’t even express how thankful I am to have him, the perfect dog in our lives! He brings all of us so much joy, warmth, and love. Well, maybe not all of us. Rascal and Rocco would certainly disagree. They still try to pretend he doesn’t exist!
Follow IAMs on Facebook and Twitter to be updated on this and future campaigns.
So, what do I do?
Watch the video and/or share this post on your favorite social media, the title contains the hashtag needed, #ShakeItForward, and you’re all set!
Thanks so much for joining the TNT hop! I am late stopping by because we were out of town for the holiday weekend. Great story about how you adopted Max. 🙂
Hi R&R! Thanks for hopping onto This 'N That Thursday Thanksgiving edition. I still have to cash in my coupon for IAM shakable to give it a fun trial!
Hello Max! You stay sweet always, okay?
You and Max really got lucky, huh? 🙂 Sweet fella (and I got a perfect cat from a shelter once, too, and I could never understand how he got there). Speaking of cats, mine do not appreciate Jon Farleigh going around acting like the fun police!
OMC! Rascal and Rocco, you guys live with a woofie?? This is a great cause cos shelters always need donations
That is a great story and such a great cause! I hope the bowls flow freely!
