Rascal and Rocco- Lurking Laundry Basket- When Laundry Strikes back

The kids are asleep and I can finally try to get some sleep myself! I walk past the empty laundry basket on the floor at the end of my bed and think I should move that. I know I’ll probably get up in the middle of the night, as happens often with little ones, and trip over it!

I’m too tired to bother and since I took that mental note, I’m sure I’ll remember it’s there now.

I get into bed and get all comfy and snuggly in the blankets. Just as I start to doze off, I hear a crash downstairs! I listen for a second, knowing that Rascal must have knocked something off of the counter. All is quiet, but I get up to see what it was. As I rush around the bed, I trip right over the laundry basket! Bet you didn’t see that coming!

I get up and go downstairs to find my purse on the floor, not the kitchen counter where I left it. I scoop it up so my husband won’t have to trip over it in the morning and head back to bed. I push that laundry basket against the wall before getting back into bed.

I start to fall asleep again and hear another crash! It was a completely different sound and this time it was in the room at the end of the bed! I barely see Rocco in the dim light racing out of the room as I jump from bed to see what happened. And… I trip over the laundry basket. For a split second I think, how in the world did it get back where I had moved it from, but now it’s upside-down?!!

Then I realize, Rocco had jumped up on the edge of it, like he probably does all the time when it’s full, but being empty, it flipped over. He rocketed into the air and sped out of there with his fur all poofed out in every direction! I calmly pushed the laundry basket against the wall again, leaving it upside-down, shook my head, and crawled back into bed. Hoping fervently for no more surprises.

Ours has rounded handles, so he wouldn't get trapped, at least. Run off in a panic he did. So did his mama, almost!

Hello Dakota and Cody! Hmm, sweet is not my first thought. Though I am the one who has to wear the clothes he's shedding on! I suppose he does look pretty adorable. He'd give an evil smile if he was worth the effort.

At least Rocco didn't tip the basket on top of himself. Moist kitties would run off in a panic if that happened.

If it's not kids, it's cats!

We think laundry baskets make fun toys…and great napping spots when the fun is done.

Ha ha ha! My Human is so doddering she actually says OUT LOUD to herself stuff like: "Don't forget you left that box on the floor in the hallway." And then she trips on it literally three minutes later. She's pathetic.

It sounds like no one got much sleep at your house that night! At least no one was injured, which is not something you want to say about a night's sleep. Thanks for stopping by and trashing our house!

Just as long as you don't get inside the tumble drier like my friend's cat. Luckily he was OK!

MOL! He's luck the laundry basket didn't land on him. That happened here a few years ago. Talk about attack of the laundry basket!

At least ours has a rounded handle, so he can't get stuck. Though he deserved to get stuck in my opinion! 😉
