February is National Pet Dental Health Month
Do you care for your dog’s teeth as you would your own?
You may feed them the best pet food their is, but did you know that the most common health problem in dogs is actually periodontal disease? In fact, dogs often have symptoms of oral disease by the time they are three!
Gum and teeth issues can become painful if not treated, and lead to serious problems. Max recommends:
- brushing often, start young if you can, to get your pup used to it. Some do well with a finger tooth brush that just slips onto the tip of your finger such as used on a baby
- chewing dental sticks and bones designed for dogs teeth health
- quality dog food
- yearly check dental check ups with your veterinarian
Not only pet health month we should take care of our pets all over the year. Pets are really sensitive enough. Also if we suspect any pet diseases we should contact veterinary hospitals around to find out what is going one and to solve.
Good oral health is important
Oh yeah! We get dental treats to help keep our teefs clean!
We brush our huskies teeth as well as give them lots of great dental chews. Dental health is so important for our pets.

It's very important to take care of your teeth!
Great advice! Reya wants me to take care of her "Teefers". She loves her dental treats and getting her teeth brushed!
Great advice thanks for sharing! Love Dolly
Good reminders! Its about balancing tooth brushing and natural chewing (toys, treats, and chews). Keep on smiling pups!
So important and I am glad to see more and more bloggers getting the word out!
I brush Laika's teeth every evening before I do mine. She really wasn't a big fan at first but after enough sweet talk and carrots she started to see the bright side.
Those are great tips. It is important to take care of pet's teeth.
We get our teeth brushed every night before bed, gnaw on antlers, and get a few dental chews a week. Our chompers are in good shape.
Teddy's favorite dental cleaners are raw marrow bones. Supervised of course.
Our guys get their teeth brushed twice daily. Great diet and some raw bones.
Oscar gets a good teeth brushing – although, I need to be a bit more committed to doing it daily.
It's important for us kitties too! My human brushes my teeth, although she says it is not often enough!
Yes it is! Our vet says to massage kitties gums from the time they're kittens so they're used to it. And sometimes you can just pick plaque off their teeth with a finger nail.
