How to Have a Peaceful Day #blog4peace

We’re joining in the Blog Blast 4 Peace day.

Dona Nobis Pacem means Grant us Peace in Latin.

Everyone can bring peace and it’s not as hard as some might think to reach out and help someone in need. Each week we feature easy ways to get involved, great causes to help or at least spread the word about, and people and companies that are giving back.

Join us for our Monday Matters series. Please let us know if there is a cause, charity, or organization you know of that needs some attention called to it.

Simple Ways to Make Today a Peaceful Day:

Check your attitude: Let go of any grudges, or grumpiness, decide to have a good outlook.

Smile: even if you don’t feel like it. The more you smile, the more you will and the more others will smile back.

Notice the small things that bring you joy: a cup of coffee, a flower, a crisp breeze, fall leaves, clear skys, anything that you enjoy and possibly take for granted most days.

Help someone for no reason other than kindness: hold the door, pick up a piece of trash, pay for the person behind you in line, lift a grocery bag, let a car go in front of you… wherever you see someone could use a hand.

Give a complement: a kind word can mean the world to someone. If you happen to think, her hair looks nice today, I like his shoes… don’t just think it, say it! Even to a complete stranger.

Get involved in something bigger than your own life. We all get stuck in our own struggles; so focused on what I need to accomplish today. No matter how much you have or don’t have, you can help someone else. Even if it’s just to share a need, lend an ear, a meal, a smile. Think of one way you can help someone else today.
