Dog’s Paradise, Cat’s Nightmare

by L. E. Mastilock

It’s springtime!

Of course, here in California we’ve had a long, hot drought, so sunshine is not what has brought that transition about. We finally got some rain!

The grass turned green and grew up past Max’s head over night! I love the fresh, earthy smell after the rain, so we just had to get out in it.

I am definitely not the only one who loves it!

However, not everyone likes getting their paws wet in damp grass.

Rascal and Rocco prefer to nap for as many days as it takes for the sunshine to come back and dry everything up.

Just hold on, Rocco! The rain has to stop eventually.

We’re still in a major drought, so I’m hoping for much more rain! Sorry boys.

Also,

Rocco is on the Cats of the CB Calendar today!

Kitties never like wetness. Of course Storm doesn't like to get her feet wet unless she is retrieving a duck!

Max doesn't like water, but he made the exception for damp grass. Bath time is a whole different story

We know too well how grass can grow a foot overnight! I can lose my Rocco in tall grass too! Sweet photo of the kitties. Happy Friday!

We're in favor of anything that turns the grass that beautiful green! I hope you continue to get the rain you need….the cats will get over it. LOL Our cats love to lay in the sun too, so don't have much use for rain either. The snow and cold we've had to deal with has been worse though! I think it's almost over, so we may see that green one of these days.

it's raining here today. Rocky wants to go outside, but we don't think he'd like it in the rain! Sun puddles are better than rain puddles!

We don't blame you. We don't like wet paws, either! Paws up for being cat of the day on the calendar. You can keep the head peep company at work all day today on her desk!

I'm with you two kitties – more sun puddles!! My human is going on about how awesome everything smells outside – and then she comes in and keeps the windows shut because it is "too cold" – where's the fun for us cats?

I'm sure I sound just as crazy to my kitties. Love that fresh air, but like to be bundled up warm and cozy inside.
