It’s suddenly cold here.
I mean seriously cold! At least, much colder than we were used to when living on the coast. Up in the mountains where we are now I’m so grateful for a fireplace. I find myself thinking of what I am grateful for a lot lately. Could be because we finally have a gorgeous house and are over with the stress that took up most of our year. Could just be that it’s November and here in the states Thanksgiving is coming up fast !
Max is especially grateful for the fireplace, too! He is not fond of being cold, let me tell you.
Once we got a fire going he could relax and just lounge in comfort, basking in the warmth. He’s been much more comfortable this year than ever before. I may have mentioned once or twice that he is very allergic to fleas and would chew and scratch himself raw after a flea bite. I am so thankful that his skin is healthy, his coat is thick and full as it’s ever been; mainly that he can lounge in comfort like this without itching.
It’s cold!
Did I already say that? So, I shouldn’t even be worried about fleas, right? Do you see how warm and toasty it is inside my house? I’m sure the fleas would love to cozy up in here with us, but since Max has super powers, they won’t touch him!
What is this awesome super power, you ask?

I am thankful, so very thankful, that we were introduced to BRAVECTO® (Fluralaner) by our vet to give Max 12 weeks* of flea and tick protection. Life hasn’t been the same since! I don’t plan on ever going back. No dog needs to suffer the way poor Max was when he had fleas. I’d just look at him itching and itching and no matter how many baths, how many natural flea remedies or other flea preventatives I tried, he looked so completely miserable. I felt helpless.
And remembering to give a monthly flea medicine was always a pain. Now I know Max is protected for about 3 months and BRAVECTO provides a convenient sticker I put on my calendar to remind me when his next dose is due. I don’t have to wrestle my dog to the ground or avoid petting him after application. It’s not an unpleasant experience in giving dog medication. Instead, it’s a tempting chewable treat that he usually can’t wait to gobble up!
Did I mention I’m thankful?
I’m so, so very grateful for this box of magic.
