Do Cats Know When You Feel Low?

November 21, 2013 by L. E. Mastilock

Do Cats Know When You Feel Low?

When you feel like banging your head against the wall…

Or you really just want to go cuddle up with a beloved stuffed animal…

Do Cats Know When You Feel Low?

Suddenly, your cats are there for you.

Making you feel loved.

It might be that they’re simply around more.

A touch.

Brushing up against your hand.

This can be more comforting than any human words.

You might even be lucky enough to be blessed with full on crushing, cuddling.

A cat blanket!

This may suffocate you, but you can have no doubt of their unending affections for you.

Should you wish to turn over, sleep on your own pillow perhaps?

Well, you really can’t ask for conditions on love.

Cats don’t.

Rascal slept on or next to me whenever possible over the past week while I was going through some health issues and worry filled times. Regardless of whether I was comfortable, I knew without a doubt, he was permeating love.
Rocco actually pushed the dog out the way this week to rest his head
in my hand! And he’s not usually very affectionate toward me, preferring
my husband’s company, if any human.
Max, the dog, snuggled up on me often as well, preferring to lay against my legs. However, he moves when I do, unlike the cats’, who make a firm objection and demand that I let them love me.

It amazes me that someone I can’t understand through words can have the most calming effect on me and comfort me like no other.

They know, without a doubt. Our Angel Graphite was the most amazingly empathic cat I've ever met.

my Angel Bobo was always attuned to my moods. Cody is more selfish and often couldn't care less lol

As cat owner, I have proven that they love you unconditionally… and they offer the best companionship (just like dogs).

I believe dogs and cats both have the uncanny ability to tell when we are sick. I had a lot of health issues over the last year and there were many days that I laid in bed all day and several of my dogs would stay in bed with me all day long. Hope you get to feeling better soon!

Kitties know instinctively when their humans need cuddles, and they are always their for their humans! Sending you plenty of purrs!

Cats know, trust us. Cats know and care if you are feeling low, or just having a bad day.

Of course, sitting there with two 12-pound tomcats jostling for position in your lap while you have to pee has its own complications, but kitties do care.

Whenever I am crying…Savannah comes straight away to find me and offer me her body to pet. I woke one night from the worst nightmare, screamed out…Savannah did not flee the bed, she came right up close to my chest and tucked herself so closely and tights next to my body…and I have never ever heard her purr so loudly, not before and not since. She allowed me to leave my hand around her body until I finally fell back to sleep. They know

somehow they just know! Even when you don't make any noise. They are so intuitive. And such a wonderful comfort! Hope you don't have any more nightmares like that, though!

Buddy is very intuitive when I'm not feeling well. In fact, I'd only had him about 4 months when I broke my leg, had surgery and ended up spending a lot of time on the couch. He had been very standoffish until then. He started keeping a close eye on me – lap time, nap time, you name it – he was there. Over the years, he has continued this practice and has turned into quite the nurse!
