I would not call my cats adventurous. They do love to explore the great outdoors, but only so far as the back yard. They don’t adventure much farther than that. As far as getting exercise, they may leap at the occasional bug, but honestly, they are quite lazy. No, I wouldn’t call them adventure cats at all. Rocco’s idea of adventure is lounging in the sun on the patio and watching the birds.
Rather than exploring outside their safe little comfort zone, my cat’s will make do living vicariously through other brave kitties.
We were gifted a book in exchange for a review, however all opinions are our own.
These Cats Live for Adventure
And that’s just what we’ve been doing now that we have our copy of Adventure Cats by Laura J. Moss!
This book is full of beautiful images of unbelievable cats, who live for thrills!
Cats that go camping, hiking, climbing, even boating.
I doubt Rascal and Rocco are jealous of these cats, more likely they are shaking their heads in disbelief. Why would any kitty want to leave the comforts of home? Well, the cats in this book love their outdoor lifestyle. I’m loving getting to know these cool cats and peek into their awesome lives.
There are also urban cats and house cats included, with tips on how they, too, can get active, get outdoors, and experience some adventure as well. The book emphasizes knowing your cats’ personality (there’s a quiz included!), temperament, and to practice proper training, preparation and safety before even setting out for any type of adventure with your cat. Clear instructions are provided in each of these areas.
There are safety, travel, and many more great tips for cat owners in this book.
- How to Prevent Dehydration
- How to Leash Train a Cat
- Road Trip Essentials
- What to Put in a Cat First Aid Kit
- What to Pack on a Cat Hike
All these questions and many more are answered. It’s an easy and very enjoyable read, I love the colorful layout and large fonts, to easily find just the section I’m interested in.
There is no other book or guide out there that brings adventurous kitty’s together like this.
Nor any book that has all the information you need to begin your own adventure, should you choose, with your cat. This is a guide book, a travel book, a beautiful cat photo book, an inspiration, and just a pleasure to browse, whether you have any intention of setting off on your own adventures or not. The stories and images are wonderful. This book is now a permanent fixture on my coffee table, so I can pick it up and look through it at my leisure.

What a great book! We aren’t much of adventure cats. All of our adventures take place indoors…pretty boring.
We know we aren’t adventurous kitties. We prefer to stay indoors and be pampered all day long.
We are slowly reconnecting with our friends since Mom Paula retired and hope to see you more often.

So good to see you here! Yay for retirement!! More time to play with mom! I bet you’re happy to have more of her.
Although I am leash trained and travel, I don’t think I qualify as an adventure cat – my idea of a cool adventure is staying in a nice hotel! I blame my human, who is the same way.
Glamorous adventures count as adventure in my book!
What a cool book! I wonder sometimes if our friendly feral Patty O’Malley would travel around with me, but so far I haven’t convinced him to jump up into the car.
My boys are no fans of the car! That would take quite some getting used to.
